What do you think?

I'm not sure if this is cost effective but i have a friend with a machine shop with CNC/Lathe etc, and thinking of making a vacuum pump if i can find plans somewhere and i have a budget for this at about $150 so that should be enough to buy the metal and motor... what do you guys think?

<t>If i had to guess id say Meiro designed his grid like that on the premise of how easy constructing it is, after playing around with welding thin SS wire i finally decided to wrap 2 SS wires together and bend them into this shape which was relatively easy and better than the welded grids i made......
