Re: Helium-3 Fusor Thread

Early on there was much discussion about Helium-3 and Phil Fostini actually did some fusion runs. He has several posts on it. Here is one in the Images Section. http://www.fusor.net/board/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=7695 Also, as previously stated. U of Wisc Madison has some papers on using it as a fuel. G...

Re: Ludlum 12, 16, or 18 for Neutron Detection

Yes, they can. BF3 tubes have a large pulse height so 2 mv detection is sufficient for those tubes and most all others. In contrast, helium-3 tubes have a very small pulse height of right around the 2 mv depending upon the voltage placed on the tube. Still, the 12,16. and 18 should. work even for th...

They stay in your inbox until read by recipient or you delete them. It is an awkward way that the site gives confirmation of delivery.

Re: Ludlum 12 Ratemeter Issues

You have two equations and two unknowns. Unfortunately, until you can quantify one of them, you will have a devil of a time trying to get them both working together. As you are attempting, get the meter working first. The black screw on the black faceplate is to adjust the mechanical zero on the met...

Merry Christmas/ Happy Holidays

It has been a good year on Fusor.net. Many new people. Good interactions. More fusors, plasma, and neutrons. Life is good.

Thank all of you for contributing and making our site professional and helpful.

Happy and safe holidays to you and your family and friends.

Merry Christmas

Re: Increasing the useful life of bubble detector tubes

The two that I owned both failed within a year. The first one had a good workout including doing some multiple day long background measurements. Some bubbles did form with no neutron sources operating but they were few and far between. Both of my detectors failed by your mechanism #1 evident from ac...

Re: A Nightmare editing fusioneer listings

Technology is not making our lives better or easier. We have become slaves to relearning variations on the same things over and over again all to keep IT people employed and the money flowing to the companies that employ them. It is like Big Pharma but it is Big Tech. Draining our pockets and our mi...

Re: A Nightmare editing fusioneer listings

Richard, I was traveling and took a bit of a break from working on the site. Before I took a respite, I made sure the word counts where sufficient to allow long posts. Post much longer and more words than the Fusioneers post by many times. It seems to be working just fine for me so tried it by tempo...

Re: Website Update

Yea, this phpBB3 is getting to be really old news. Any change that I make takes 1 hour to a day to update in the system changes. I do not even know why it is displaying as it is as the file I modified was renamed and now put back into original position. NOTHING has changed. It is SO frustrating to n...
