Re: Photon triggered Fusion

A free particle (e.g. D+) cannot absorb a photon, so the effect must be happening inside the D2 loaded Ti. Irradiating free D2 or D+ with X-rays is probably not doing anything. For a free particle momentum and energy cannot be conserved simultaneously for photon absorption, try it: photon: E=hv phot...

Re: High Voltage Supply for PMT

I tried a small royer-like oscillator with 2 TMS93.... CCFL transformers. These transformers are a bit bigger than the laptop CCFL transformers, which makes the supply a bit more powerful. The transformers are available on aliexpress, inexpensive. It produced about 2500V at 2mA. About 30kHz. I didn'...

Re: Serial communication

Yes, your code seems to write the output back to the sensor... but besides that, your rx led doesn't blink. So maybe you don't have any response at all from the sensor. could be that: a) parity or stop bits are different on the max chip compared to the usb-serial test you describe? b) 7 or 8 bits? c...

Re: Can we have SSL?

ah, just the first 90 days...my mistake. Indeed de letsencrypt scripts are a bit big, and following the steps manually is tedious. I used startssl, they do have completely free certs. About the benefits: The unencrypted passwords might be sniffed, so the fusor site itself could be hacked, sometimes ...

Re: Can we have SSL?

Not how it should be. the http login still exists, shows "succesfull login" and then it logs out, and I had to manually type the https login url... And the certificate exception has to be added manually. Let's encrypt has an update mechanism which should be installed on the server, not ideal. Comodo...

Roberto,

thank you, that was exactly what I was looking for, I was thinking about electroplating tungsten with rhenium. Just don't know how yet...
