Re: "The amateur scientists tackling the global energy crisis"

I do wish Paul could get the credit he so justly deserves as prime mover in the internet genesis of amateur fusion. "The amateur scientists tackling the global energy crisis"

Re: PBS Interpretation of a fusor...

That’s a cool presentation. It treats fusion as something almost commonplace, and as a source of inspiration for the next generation of experimenters. One of whom, one of these days, is going to crack the code...

In my biography of Philo Farnsworth, I quoted the philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer, who said that "the truth goes thru three phases: first it is ridiculed, then it is opposed, then it is recognized as having been self-evident all along." I think the evolution of the fusor falls somewhere between step...

It Was 90 Years Ago Today...

If you happen to turn on a TeeVee today... hell, if you look at a video screen (actually, you're looking at a video screen NOW) ... tip a nod toward Philo T. Farnsworth, who delivered electronic video to the planet 90 years ago today... In 1977 (FORTY years ago!) I worked in concert with Farnsworth'...

Re: Fusor.net Outage

Passwords. Right.

I will make it my mission to get on the horn with Media Temple today and get them to walk me through where those passwords are stashed, and then I'll share them with you.

A frequent offline back up.. yeah, good idea.

Re: Fusor.net Outage

So, yeah... As Frank explained above, Media Temple upgraded something on their servers. The upgrade included some factor that invalidated the passwords to access the database, and since those passwords were invalid, the database became inaccessible. Net effect, no fusor.net for almost 24 hours. When...
