Every fusor and fusion system seems to need a vacuum. This area is for detailed discussion of vacuum systems, materials, gauging, etc. related to fusor or fusion research.

I picked up a new(used) Granville-Phillips 307 vacuum gauge controller. It has the option of degas with either electron bombardment (EB) or resistance heating (I2R), with the correct gauge. Both are suppose to work at burning off contamination. I was curious which method is better, pros and cons... thanks in advance.
