Project sharing: How to build a ZVS high voltage arc generator

material requested:

Two large U ferrite cores
A large number of enameled wire
PVC tape
Pipe-thread Teflon tape
Pouring sealant of thermal conductivity
Utility knife
Glue
electric wire
And a lot of time

Winding the coil

First, wrap a layer of insulating paper on the ferrite core, and then start winding the coil around 20 circles per layer.
Leave a section at both ends, not too close to the edge.
Glue it around and then wrap a layer of PVC tape and insulation paper.
Do it over and over again.

Leave the center line a little longer, and don't break it.

A total of 40 layers is a big project and the voltage then we get is about 30KV.

Weld the ends of the enameled wire to the electric wire and pack it with PVC tape.

Wrap the whole coil with the pouring sealant. This will be effective against leakage of electricity and also waterproof.

Wrap around a primary coil, and two electric wires(8+8) are what we need.

Put the coil go through those two large U ferrite cores and then it is finished.

What we finally get is very beautiful and it's not that difficult to make, right?
Zero voltage switching is essential for achieving high working frequency, but we all should be mindful of it's limitations, it's potential impact on circuit operation and reliability when it enter hard switching mode, and use these knowledge to select suitable MOSFET or IGBT for it's applications. Welcome, Joshua.
Nice pictures of coils. Since you took the trouble to embed them, applause for using appropriate-sized images instead of "maximum camera resolution".

Can you tell us the arc voltage (not the open-circuit voltage)? Arc current? Frequency? This is a place where you could get advice about how to measure them.
