UPDATE#3: Hull-Raney Ion Gun Construction

Folks,

The attached "composite photo" shows the ion gun's Faraday cup assembly. The next phase is fabricating the mounting assembly that will compress and seal the different flanges. If we experience sealing problems, I have some "acetic acid-free" RTV for sealing the flanges vs. a more rigid vacuum epoxy (Hysol 1C). We want the system to be demountable to simplify modifcations.

That's about it for this update. We'll keep you posted.
