Nuclear Enterprises plastic scintillators

This area is for discussions involving any fusion related radiation metrology issues. Neutrons are the key signature of fusion, but other radiations are of interest to the amateur fusioneer as well.

Nuclear Enterprises plastic scintillators

Post by Roberto Ferrari » Mon Jun 18, 2018 2:06 pm

Hi
I have been able to get three plastic scintillators for neutron detection, the models NE-400, NE-402 and NE-404.
Being obsolete there is no much useful info on the web. Just learned that the 402 has 92% B10 and that the 404 is sensitive to fast neutrons.
I would appreciate if some fellow has full specs.
Regards,
Roberto

Saint-Gobain acquired Nuclear Enterprises in the 90s. You might try contacting them to see if you can get the specs. These could be the same as the BC 400 series scintillators they currently offer.
