Here is a link to a paper on measuring the neutron flux around high energy x-ray machines. It discusses the use of indium and gold foil activation methods and also a method of using phosphorous pentoxide either as a powder or in solution along with a scintillation probe:

They are dealing with high flux rates but the methods and analysis they present may be useful for our experiments.

These are (Gamma, n) neutron production systems. The gamma/x-ray needed for this reaction are far beyond our fusor outputs. The fluxes are also huge. There are no real new ideas here in neutron detection.
While the x-ray to neutron ratios may be similar between the systems noted and our fusor, the neutron flux off the systems are vastly different.
