Ion acceleration in an electric field

It may be difficult to separate "theory" from "application," but let''s see if this helps facilitate the discussion.

Ion acceleration in an electric field

Post by Harrison Gieselman »

I am building a Fusor to do some research on grid sizing, but I have a question that I can't seem to find an answer to anywhere. In an electric field, what is the acceleration of an ion? I know that an ion in a 30Kv field accelerates to 30KeV, but at what rate does it accelerate?
