First Light

Post by Will Caruana »

I have Neon Sign Transformer connected to a variac and the out put of the NST is connect with to a diode.
The operational voltage is at 6Kv (this is the reading I got when I measured though the NST says its rated for 7.5Kv)
The operational current I am unable to measure at this time though the NST is rated for 35ma.
I do not have a thermocouple hooked up to be able to tell what the pressure is at this time.
The pump I am using is a Welch 1400.

Congrats on the plasma, and nice effort on the demo fusor.

I think you probably know that right now you plasma shows characteristics of high chamber pressures. Pressure and gas control should be your next focus.
