Jackson Mills (Aspiring Nuclear Engineer) Makes Local News

Post by docmills »

Greetings,

Jackson made the local news for his work on making a demo fusor and was invited to a leadership summit on nuclear power in Chicago in October. The local county magazine, Wayne County, Illinois Outlook, featured Jackson in the November issue. We wanted to share on here as fusor.net was mentioned. We are taking our time on the project with the belief that slow and steady will win the race.

Fabulous! This is the kind of thing that will bouy and assist a younger person in their effort and perhaps create a firm path forward in life to a scientific career. All the best in the continued effort.

I have always been an advocate of thorium breeder reactors. They just make good sense as there is far more thorium on earth and it is much easier to get at than Uranium. Hopefully U reactors will carry us through to a time when thorium breeders can take over. Fusion power is, and will remain, a pipe dream for a very long time to come. We need to advance fission, a technology already in hand and powering millions of homes today.

Fusion is the energy of the future....and it always will be
The more complex the idea put forward by the poor amateur, the more likely it will never see embodiment
