NST Star Mode

Post by Mark Rowley »

This is the best star I could muster up with a 15kV NST. The diff pump pulls way too deep of a vacuum so constant throttling was required to keep the star from extinguishing. Being a shunted power source the maximum voltage I could attain was just over 8kV. The star in the pic was at about 43 mTorr. Any lower and the NST was useless at maintaining a plasma. I’ll be getting the X-ray transformer assembled over the next few weeks.

A very nice star. Few folks ever get this nice of a star image, unless they actually are doing fusion.

Fusion is the energy of the future....and it always will be
The more complex the idea put forward by the poor amateur, the more likely it will never see embodiment
