Archived - First Demo Fusor Working!

Post by Trilitheum »

I have beeing slowly working on my Fusor for some time, posting every now and then but mostly drawing from the vast knowledge in these forums. I have finally finished my demo fusor, and here is a pic of it in action. I am getting the "fuzzy" plasma problem where it covers everything inside the chamber I don't think my welch pump can reach low enough pressures to get a distinct possior. Anyway, this is only the begining now to start refining the system!

Hi, yes the base plate is a cog which i polished down to a mirror finish The view port is 1/2 inch plexi I am having a glass circle cut and drilled to reaplace it. The setup is as follows:

Container - Stainless Steel Coffee Holder
Pump - Rebuilt Welch 1400
Feed Through - Spark Plug
Power Supply - 2 Microwave oven transformers with 10k
current limiting resistors. 4 HV mircowave
diodes for rectification.
Grid - Spherical S.S. Silver Soldered

This picture is actually of its very first run, and It was a good sight to see it actually working. Now to start hunting leeks, I suspect their is one as after valving off the chamber the discharge ceases fairly quickly.
