For those with a chemical or chemistry bent looking for a great early reference with a hands on approach to this subject, need look no further.
Frederick Soddy was a famous early radio chemist and protege' of Rutherford's. He was a Nobel Prize winner as well. This book is his second major work, and was published in 1915. Just like his first work in 1909, "The Interpretation of Radium", this book is a well spring of hard to gather data on the radio elements and gives you a warm cozy rinse in the old names for these elemental isotopes. Ionium, Mesothroium, Emanation (Niton), Thoron, Uranium X, Radium A, B, C, C', C", D, E, F, etc.
Lots of data on real world isolation and separation of these fun new toys of the early 20th century.
Expect to pay over $40.00 for a half way decent copy.
