NIF saga

Post by Richard Hull »

The painful tale goes on and on.....
Need to let some bile flow regarding fusion?
Want to know the size and type of rat hole that sucked up your most recent fusion tax dollars?

The GAO bloodhounds sniffed out all the rats, but only after they ate all th' cheese and had the guts to demand more!

This could make a nice miniseries featuring despetic, flatulent academicians turned into bungling administrators living off the federal dole. It has a major
university demanding promised goal bonuses for work never done. The series features cronieism in its finest implimentation, make work projects, department heads who had never worked in the field they headed, creative book-keeping, money shuffling by taking it out of one pocket and putting it into another and claiming goals met that were never underway and much, much more to delight the true target audience of sheared sheep.........you and I.

Here are the links and report numbers

go to:

http://www.access.gpo.gov/su_docs/aces/aces160.shtml

Here you will find the report search engine for the GAO.
Now load in the REPORT NUMBER box, IN PARENTHESIS, the following report numbers.

The latest report to John Warner (18 pages). GAO-01-677R
The original sad report to House Science committee by the GAO. (50 pages) RCED-00-141
The identical report made to the House subcommittee RCED-00-271

Enjoy!!
Progress may have been a good thing once, but it just went on too long. - Yogi Berra
Fusion is the energy of the future....and it always will be
The more complex the idea put forward by the poor amateur, the more likely it will never see embodiment
