Here are a few sources for electronic components that might be of interest. Most of them do on-line sales.

I have ordered things from all the above companies, and have not had any problems. Most have very reasonable prices. One company has laughably expensive prices on a lot of their items, but there are a few reasonably priced gems to be had. Radio Shack is a good source for odd batteries, and has a lot of things on line you'll never find in the stores. The best way to get to know these companies is to wade through their on-line catalogs and see which ones have the stuff you need.
