Hello, I'm David
Currently I am a freshman the University of Kentucky and am pursuing a degree in materials engineering with a minor in physics. I am incredibly interesed in high vacuum, electricity, composite materials, and chemistry (SM member Blue Matter). I am very good at obtaining things and enjoy providing others with things I have found that they might not be able to find for themselves. I am currently working on building a controller for an Edwards turbo molecular pump.
Thank you!
David

Hello from Kentucky
If you can explain it to the average person it's probably not that fun.

Welcome, David. It's good to see people applying & increasing their skills by helping others.
There are lots of posts at fusor.net about scratch-built turbo controllers.
I recall a flurry a couple of years ago, after more than a dozen used TMP-50's (?) sold on ebay for $99 each. It might be a coincidence, but they had all been snapped up within a few hours of the news appearing here.
