Hi from California

Post by Alejandro Perez »

My name is Alejandro Perez, and I reached the forums while looking for information related to building a vacuum chamber (for general experimentation, not fusion). I have to say this site is unique, filled with a wealth of information from the practical side of things that is difficult to get otherwise.

Fusion, however, piked my interest, and I'll be building a setup suitable for a demo fusor.

Cheers

Welcome to the site. Just curious, but what kind of "general" experiments were you planning previously?
If your experiment needs statistics, you ought to have done a better experiment.

I have quite a few in the backburner, as I never had access to a vacuum chamber, and over the years ideas just accumulate.
But most recently, vapor deposition and vacuum melting of speciality alloys.

Welcome, Alejandro!

Are you going to experiment with heating by induction, or by e-beam ?

How about optically focused radiant heat? I've melted quarters with a great big Fresnel lens in sunlight.
