Inner grid insulation - ceramic VS nylon?

Post by John Doe »

I plan on using a 1" nylon spacer as my inner grid feedthrough insulator (outside of the chamber) - should I be using ceramic instead??

Nylon is fine as long as it is not exposed to the vacuum and direct path to ion/electron bombardment. Glazed ceramic is highly recommended, however.
