Last night at the special awards ceremony at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, some fusioneers won some important prizes:

1. Michal Racko from Martin, Slovakia won 3000 dollars work of United Technologies Corporation stock for his project titled "Farnsworth Fusor."

2. Jake Hecla, Raymond Maung, and Rian Chandra all from Washington state won 1500 dollars from the Coalition for Plasma Science for their project titled "Investigation of Anisotropic Neutron Radiation from a Farnsworth IEC Fusion Reactor."

Congratulations to these young scientists and their supporters including the contributors to this forum.

I am wishing them luck today at the overall award ceremony and in all their future endeavors.

Simply fabulous! While their efforts were the direct result of hard work and dedication on their part, we can all be proud that many took inspiration and some knowledge from fusor.net and sage guidance from their mentors.

This is the kind of thing that we are here for. Let those with the nascent desires, verve and ability show up here and they are ahead of the game. With the right local mentoring and assistance, fusion is just a matter of time.

Good luck and a sincere wish for an enriching future to all the winners.

Update: both of the fusor projects earned grand awards at the fair today. The Washington state team took a second place in the physics category and our Slovak fusioneer took a third place in the same category. I consider this category one of the toughest. Well done young men. You've made us proud. :D
