Hi all,
Been looking at vacuum chambers on ebay. Found 2 that look useable for about $700- cylinders about 12" in diameter, but I would still have to cut and weld and buy some conflats to get them setup properly. I'm asking if it would just be better to start from scratch at that rate. I'm planning on a cylinder about as tall as its diameter. 3/16 to 1/8" thick SS. I know a good shop that's done other fabrication work for me. I'll scrounge as many conflats, etc. off ebay as possible.

If your experiment needs statistics, you ought to have done a better experiment.

Currently I'm using a glass made "reactor" - but I'm also in the process of deciding the the type of chamber.
My actual research points me to a tailor made spherical chamber with a lot of CF ports in different diameters.
In Europe there aren't that many companies that produce such things and the really good ones (electropolished surface) start at 5.000 to 10.000$.
But we will see ...
Be carefull with used devices, they might contain dangerous residues!
