New Fusor Window/electrode feed-thru
Well, finally got my new 8.3" window yesterday; drilled an electrode thru hole last night as well. After I install the electrode and let it cure this evening, I'll be able to start plasma runs in the fusor to determine best pressure (3 - 20 microns range, I assume) in deuterium gas that gives me the most stable plasma for a given voltage/current (25 - 30 kV, 20 - 40 ma.) Only after I find the correct range (assuming the plasma cleans the chamber after a while) that produces a fairly stable glow/plasma for a desired voltage/current (as high as possible for my power supply), I will then move on to develop neutron detection. I am sure that challenge will match all the others and take an order or more magnitude of time than I have considered even for worse case effort... (lol.)
