Fuson Club Query?

Post by guest »

Hi

I was wondering if any of the neutron club have carried out a spatial field check -- is the neutron field uniform, or has any gradient been detected. (Accepting aberrations caused by the various containment profiles) -- I am thinking in terms of dipole creation, which may manifest as variables or gradients.

The answer is no, other than a quick check for general eveness of neutron distribution about the chamber in one plane. The operation of my fusor at least is a little to unstable to be taking critical and repeatable measurements in multiple passes.

Rarely can the simple amateur fusor be returned to a precise operating condition without a lot of automatic vacuum and HV feedback controls which no one has.
