Hi Everyone,

I'm a software engineer from London (UK). I have to admit this is not my first time using fusor.net, I regularly used the forums and guides whilst working on my physics masters degree project (some 10 years ago) but never signed up or generated my own posts. At university I specialised in nuclear fusion and plasma physics and even simulated the Farnsworth Fusor using software such as OOPIC (now replaced by Vsim - www.txcorp.com) and Madx (http://cern.ch/madx). In working on the simulations I came up with a couple of ideas that I thought may enhance the collision rate in a Farnsworth or Elmore/Tuck/Watson design and told myself that once I had a little money behind me I would build my Fusor and prove it.

Well that time has finally come, over the last 6 months I have managed to gather many of the parts I need (primarily from eBay) and I am in the process of moving house (to one that will have the space for my lab). I am going to follow the guides on this site and work my way up from plasma through to neutron generation (and hopefully beyond). I am sure to have many questions for the fusioneers on this site along the way and I am looking forward to being a more active user than I was before.

Welcome and good luck; as for going beyond neutron generation(!)? Exactly what is that? LOL

Ha, yeah fair point.

I was thinking the stage after neutron generation would be breakeven (and the stage after that would be a viable energy source).

I appreciate it's not very realistic but hey a guy can dream right.

Have fun building your fusor - and having the right background will help you a lot ...
