The larger more fancy looking camera with the 25mm lens would have been too narrow a field!!!
Use your brightness and contrast controls to the extreme on your monitor and you can further manipulate the image. Again, B&W monitors are better at this.
You can also stretch things farther by shooting the monitor image with a 35mm camera or even a digital camera to increase contrast.
