I have almost finished the power supply. The baffels have created a 3D maze of channels all separated by 1/4" acrilic sheet. I an using 14 guage 15 KV neon sign wire, all connections soldered, painted with corona suppression dope, and covered with Silly Putty. I bought the Silly Putty at Toys Are Us, unfortunately it came in two colors, in one package, red and gold metallic, I think the metallic is unusable for corona suppression.
I made some plumbing mods on the vacuum system (larger diameter & shorter lines) and, with the diffusion pump running, I now have a 2 micron PLASTIC chamber, with about 15 minutes of pumping.
The stainless chamber is at the machine shop and should be done next week. I hope to get the demo working next weekend.
I started this project March 10, and I can't believe how much I have learned in nine weeks.
