I have a little 3" diffusion pump that may be up and working soon...if I can stop the rust problem that has occurred on its steel surface. I bought it slightly rusty and sanded off all the rust, cleaned out carbon deposits, etc a few months back. Now that I just got home for the summer, after leaving it sitting around for half a year, the rust is back in spots. Simple problem. But what should I do??
Here's what I have done. I poured phosphoric acid all over the thing to dissolve the rust off. Right now it looks great. I'll bet in ten days some rust will show up though. Again, what should I do??
