Hosting Considerations

That's great Ryan, though I sure hope it doesn't come to that. I'd prefer to stay put, if we can do so painlessly).

Tell me, what's the extent of your development experience? Is it more "front end" (HTML) oriented or more "back end" (CGI, database) oriented?

I ask for two reasons: my own "web development" experience - and I use the term loosely - is very much "front end" oriented - I can create a decent HTML doc and graphic elements. But I never really got into the nuts and bolts of CGI, either writing scripts (Perl, PHP) or hosting existing scripts.

I think very well of AITcom.net, the ISP that hosts my sites like "theperfesser.com" and "farnovision.com" The cost to me for these sites is nominal (I have a "reseller" account with AIT). I'd be inclined to use their service if we opt to set up something on our own. I mention AIT because they have built in use of MySQL/PHP data operations, and I'm thinking that might be of some use to us.

If we're going to "go on our own," we'll need somebody in our corner who is well versed in the "back end" aspects of web development, and I can easily give that person access to the fusor.net domain at AITcom.net.
