I think we've found our solution, and it is both painless and cost free.
All hail Ryan Edgar, who volunteered to help us set up our own forum at my domain, fusor.net. Not only has Ryan found software that replicates almost all the functions of this site, but he has also determined the means for porting all the existing posts and forums on this board to the new site as well. That means we can have control of our own site, no ads, no charges, and no lost info. That's waaaay more than I would have imagined possible before Ryan stepped in to help.

It's our old songs.com-based message board, completely intact! I don't know how he did it, but there it is! Like seeing an old friend come back from the dead, I'd say...
So, that's whatwe're working on. If Ryan can complete the set up in the next couple of days, we should be able to abandon this site before the June 30 deadline. I have a bit of a time factor this week, because I'm going on vacation from June 15 to July 1, and will have rather limited Internet/e-mail access during that time (I'm not even taking my laptop. This is a VACATION!) but unless Ryan runs into any major bugs, I think we may be able to engineer the move before I go.
I'm reluctant to do anything "unilaterally", but between the time considerations, and the possibilities that Ryan is working on, I'm going to venture that we've found the best possible solution. Soon as Ryan has something for us all to look at, I'll post the URL and probably e-mail everybody.
