What are you using for image editing? I have been using Jasc PaintShop Pro for 5 years, recommend it highly. Very powerful, not nearly as complicated at Photoshop (or as expensive). http://www.jasc.com
One suggestion: you might consider resizing images to something less than 800 x 600, so that they will fit comfortably in a typical browser window.
