Nice thought about using a disc to shade the feedthrough inslator from sputtering deposits. I'm trying to think of or find an inorganic alternative to Torr Seal for attaching the ceramic collar around the spark plug insulator. This one dependence on organics has always been the only aspect of the whole spark plug insulator scheme that has bugged me.
Mc Master-Carr has some castable ceramic mix and ceramic adhesive that may be promising.
