I have, on hand, about 120 lbs of parafin and 50 lbs of borax inorder to make up a borated parafin shield. (in furture)
Thus far, it has not been necessary as the flux levels are low. (see recent posts on radiation forum.) What little shielding I have in place, is thin lead sheeting for the nasty, skin burning, soft x-rays.
