Space travel like Fusion reasurch has been miss-managed by the large Goverments. Of your Tax $1.00 I guess .01 is used for Rocket fuel. The rest is overhead and testing. It costs $100,000 to put a pound into orbit using high enegy fuel.H&O. This costs about $100 of fuel per lb. Using a low energy Fuel like CH4&O could cost $25. If NASA was in Transport and FUSION R&D was in Energy we could have something developed by now.
