I have been in the government contractor sector, providing support for government offices such as the DOE. I worked in Oak Ridge, TN for almost 20 years but have seen government waste, fraud, and abuse. A very demeaning kind of white-collar welfare. DOE could not find fusion energy unless it bit them on the butt! I would LOVE to prove to those folks that fusion energy DOES work, and we can build a device to do in a controlled manner that their bombs can do to the enemy. DOE needs a reorganization and a refocus and I hope Bush will start and help them clean up their act.
The scientists and engineers that build these devices are on the cutting edge of technology. What we do here can make a difference. We are close to the edge where we can extract more power than we put in. Our efforts shall be realized through our discussions in these forums.
