The May 2001 Issue of Fusion Technology is entirely devoted to IEC, and it focuses prominently on Japanese efforts.
I was not aware of the level of research going on in Japan. This is truly a "must read" issue for those who are not up to date on this. Of special interest is a IEC neutron generator that uses tritium and reportedly puts out 10>e8 n/sec. This type of research seems to be right down the alley of the Japanese.
