The thing is still online! The Perfesser and I were talking the other dy on th' phone and we are stunned and gratified that his old FTP site and the old fusion BBS are still chugin' away. We would imagine that a lot of new members to this forum are getting here from the pointers on the old site.
We further figure that the current owners probably don't know this is part of their web assets and is on line. (being tucked away in a smallish part of some hard drive and not growing or being accessed) Therefore, as long as they see no activity or access in this strange corner or do not micromanage their assets, the old material should remain on line.
I would suggest that all you newbies use this source. There are some real pearls on that old list which have not yet been repeated here.
