Re[6]: NIM stuff..........

Sorry 'bout that.

A list of nice stuff would be in order.

I supply the following in the order that you need to acquire them.

1. NIM bin or crate. Obvious gotta' have or the modules are pretty worthless.

2. Stable, variable HV supply module These can be quite costly even surplus. $200-$1000 each!! My Tennelec is warranted to be stable over 24 hours to .02% zero volts to 3KV. It's a rock! I paid Don about $450 for mine and don't regret it a bit. The stability issue is a must for PMTs used for nuclear/gamma spectroscopy purposes. You may bypass this module if you have an HV supply and don't absolutely need the stability.

3. Some sort of amplifier, be it a single channel analyzer, high speed variable gain amp or whatever. These are cheap $60-$300 roughly. I have 1 mint Harshaw single channel analyzer module for sale. (see the trading post)

4. Counter/scaler module. Often very expensive and very hard to find. You can sub a very low cost external digital counter if you wish, but most NIM counter/scalers have built in disriminators or window comparitors which are fantastic.

5. Modules for signal conditioning, etc. These take the form of pulse stretchers, pulse gating modules, special integrators, discriminators, etc. Once you get pulses from your source you might want to shape them up before shipping them out to out electronics down the chain.

These last itmes will often overflow a bin and you can have them on hand on a shelf and pop them in and remove unused units as needed. It only takes 5 seconds to swap them in or out.
