Re[4]: Hornyak Buttons

Theoretically most anything is possible, but I would be making and testing a small slug of the stuff against a known and cal'd neturon source before I started casting the stuff around my 1,084 square inch fusor shell and assembling large spherical mirrors and attendant 18,000 cubic inch absolute dark enclosure around the fusor, its overall scintillation covering, the mirrors and the PMT.

Sounds good and cheap and efficient until all the ramifications are in place to do the stuff we think about.

A $300.00 Bicron BC720 with a pre-existing calibration curve from the manufacturer with that 2" PMT in a small cylindrical enclosure sounds like a lot less of a hassle and would certainly be cheaper than the total coverage unit mentioned.

Good luck with the plan, of course, should you attmept the project.
