This one is most definitely solid state, with one board that looks devoted to the HV DC-DC for the detector tube, and the other for the preamp/metering electronics. Both are mounted on edge card connectors, so I will probably be easing them out to trace out the circuits when I get a little more leisure time. 45-67 volts is definitely a possibility for the battery as well. If so, I see another DC-DC construction project in my future... No, problem, as this is how I make my living.
