I have ordered a Frieseke & Hoepfner FH40T SATZ2 Geiger counter, for something like 90$, this in order to check x.rays, gammas and betas... It was made in Federal Germany in the 70's. It is still a good instrument.
Electronics inside are obviously obsolete today, but it works and it's rated in mR/H (what we need) and has 2 tubes for different measures. And was here in IT (read no huge expense for delivery). :)))
About the Neuts counters, tonight I've been reading al the Jim Lux simposium about these (after 50 pages on ionizing radiationas)... I decided to go for the "go/no go" approach. After reading all that stuff I find myself interested in a bare measure of what comes out of my future fusor. (lots of work before getting a single neut) I was wondering if a good PC board can do the job of a digital counter or O.scope.
I will search on the net for this problem.
ciao Daniele
