I have found a pdf about an expermental proton recoil, proportional fast neuts detector. It consists of an 20mm X 50mm ion chamber, with a thin sheet of polyethylene inside (recoil). It is filled with 90% Argon and 10% CH4 (no pressure data).
They claim an efficiency of 0.01 cps/nv.
What does cps/nv mean ? I imagine cps is counts per second... But i do not understand the "nv".
This is the url if someone is interested
