Check the thread on scintillator detected neutrons earlier on in this section. Joe Zambelli is getting around 30% with a plastic scintillator/PMT setup. That's 30 times better than the ionization chamber. A 2" X 2" cylinder of plastic scintillator will set you back about 25-30 dollars.
