What are the REQUIRED shieldings for our neutron counters ? As I read on Joe's post on scintillation (BC400) it would be better putting a layer of lead outside the pmt housing instead of inside... I was thinking about a triple layer steel-lead-steel, using a thin steel tubing and a thick lead foil wrapped around the inner. For gamma blocking it should work well. Or am I wrong ?
Can please someone explain to me the way of electrostatic an magnetic shielding of the pmt housings ?
grazie e ciao Daniele
