Photodiode arrays detectors
Index Previous in Thread Next in Thread

Hi,

I have recovered two photodiode arrays from an old Perkin Elmer UV Diode Array detector (spectrometry).

Arrays are constructed on a IC like chassis with quarz windows (2 arrays are present). Mounted on the preamplifier board, each single diode has its own preamp !

Another board connected is the multiplexer (think I do not need this).

I was looking at the funcioning principles, and was wondering if some sort of proton recoil "go /no go"
detector is possible, using this ready stuff.
In effect when a charged particle smashes on the diode it should "count" a pulse, am I right ?

any suggestion, opinion, or flame is appreciated :)

ciao
Daniele
