Anyway, it is a long tube with the electrodes basically being bands around the tube. anodes at the ends, deuterons accelerate and collide in the middle under the cathode. Reminiscent of the Gow type generator.
There is a another version where there are several coaxial screen electrodes (looking like a giant triode..)
