Bake out helps a WHOLE LOT with getting the water out. If you design your system using the right materials, heating it up to 100-200 degrees C (often, they use quartz lamps inside the chamber) can help the dewatering process a lot.
Keeping it purged with dry gas when you open it up also helps (perhaps a big acrylic "dry box" around the system might not be a bad idea...)
