Hi all, I had an idea for a feedthrough that I wanted to share to have your opinion. I actually live very near Venice, and have some friends working in Murano. You all know Murano for glass, right ! So what ? I have planned with a friend to make a feedthrough, he will pour glass all around a copper cilynder and put this in a heated place to stabilize glass... Then we will have another friend machining the glass to make it fit into a pre-drilled flange, then I will epoxy the stuff to get a heavy duty feedthrough Hope this thing will work... vacuum rating should be UHV. I will have to take a look at dielectric constant of glass to make some calculations for voltage rating of the feedthrough. I'd like to make it work til 100Kv... Let me know your opinions and suggestions.
