I am thinkig (as all you already know) to make my own flanges, from standard ISO machined properly.
So, I ask you what do you think making in the flange, some sort of "electron bombardment shield" by turning two matching "lips" of steel. They will be inner than the oring groove, not disturbing the sealing method they can be a way of shielding.
I have attached a txt file with a very crude design of the idea.
Actually I have no CAD installed :)
