I called Welch today. The ballast valve parts, that they have, will not fit the older pumps. I couldn't really get a straight answer why, but apparently they have somehow changed the plate seperating the chambers. This may be as minor as changing the plate threads from straight threads (for the bolt) to NPT threads (for the nipple). But it may be more complex than that. I will be interested to know if anyone has more info.
